what is wildflower minds?

A field guide for the many ways children think, learn, and feel.

Wildflower Minds is a neurodiversity-centered storytelling, education, and advocacy project. Children’s books are at the heart of it — but the project extends beyond the page through resources, tools, and educational content designed to support both neurodivergent children and the adults who care for them.

The branches we’re growing

Each branch of neurodivergence will eventually have a trio of characters — same condition, three very different lives.

Neurodevelopmental

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Tourette Syndrome
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)

Specific Learning Disabilities

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dysgraphia
  • Dyspraxia (DCD)
  • Hyperlexia

Mental Health & Acquired

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

what we’re making

Everything Wildflower Minds will offer

Here’s the full picture — the books, characters, and resources we’re building so that every kind of mind has something made just for them.

  • stories

    Picture books

Illustrated stories starring neurodivergent characters — one diagnosis, told through several very different children.

  • representation

    Character trios

Each condition gets three characters with their own personality, flower, and life — because no two kids experience the same diagnosis the same way.

  • for grown-ups

    Parent & caregiver guides

Printable booklets that explain each condition in plain language, with conversation starters and ways to support your child at home.

  • community

    Community story submissions

Families share their child’s real story — I illustrate them as a Wildflower character so their experience can be seen and celebrated.
